Backup Codes are to be set up alongside another authentication method.
After setting up at least one authentication method eg Verification code, Passkey or Code by Email you will see an option 'Backup Codes'.
If you do not have access to your Multi-factor Authentication device you can use any of the generated passwords instead of a regular security code. Each one of these emergency codes is immediately destroyed upon use.
We recommend printing these codes out and keeping the printout in a safe and accessible location, eg your wallet or a safety deposit box.
Click 'Print these codes and keep them in your wallet'.
You can set up more than one authentication method but it must be done at the initial stage.
If you only have one authentication method set up and you wish to add another authentication method at a later stage you need to ask IT Support to delete your existing method.
Then on your next login you will need to begin the process again and set up an authentication method. At this stage you can select more than one method.
If you have issues you cannot reset the MFA yourself. Please contact IT Support or Intranet Admin who will reset it for you so you can start the process again.
HEALTHSHARE'S PASSWORD POLICY
Create strong passwords using 3 random words with a minimum of 12 characters.
When you use different passwords for your important accounts, it can be hard to remember them all.
A good way to create strong, memorable passwords is by using 3 random words.
Do not use words that can be guessed (like your spouse, children or pet’s name). You can include numbers and symbols if you need to.
